I'm a visual artist, filmmaker and poet living in Bow, East London. I like to make things that merge and blur what we find horrifying and beautiful- because life isn’t the black and white version we often perceive. My aim is to connect the audience to an emotion, as I believe that empathy is the first step towards acceptance of difference. I use my art to challenge stigmatised issues and champion under represented characters and stories. I try to be truthful to the complexity of character, and show both the virtues and the flaws that coexist in us all. I believe life is as dark and scary as it is absurd and beautiful and my art absorbs this, often creating disturbing but humorous ideas. As a bisexual female I want my work to contribute to a more fair and diverse representation on screen, drawing from my personal experience and being mindful of my own privileges and what I can give back to the art community through the way I approach writing characters, casting and crewing up a project.
